He accomplished incredible things for God, including a translation of the Bible into Chinese, an Anglo-Chinese dictionary, and hundreds of Chinese tracts and translations.Morrison toiled for twenty-five years in China, and though his ministry was not blessed by great numbers of converts, he paved the way for other missionaries to come to China. Daisy’s Search for Freedom is just what I was hoping it would be. Bertha Schwartz carefully spins the tale of a slave girl who is searching for the Underground Railroad with nothing but her faith in God to lead her. The first book in The Searchers series does an excellent job of making history come alive through the eyes of someone my own child’s age. Schwartz does not shy away from uncomfortable topics but does an excellent job at depicting history in a way that is age-appropriate and faith-based. This series is a great way to ignite a love for history in our children while showing them how God has always been and will always be at work in our lives.”—Katie Cruice SmithAuthor of Why Did You Choose Me?

  • David Livingstone: Missionary to Africa

    David Livingstone

Paperback (Emerald House Group Inc, Sept. 16, 2004)
Some men do their greatest work in the face of heart-breaking disappointments; such was David Livingstone. Facing jealousy from other missionaries, the death of his wife, troubles, delays, worries, hunger, thirst, illness, and the fear of death from the slave-dealers and wild animals, Livingstone was still close to God. His Bible was his solace and he felt the companionship of Jesus Christ even when he was most alone. Though David Livingstone has been dead for over a century, he has an honored name and his fame is fresh. He believed that God had called him to open Africa; and having done so, he left it to others, under GodÂ’s guidance, to pick up the task where he had finished. Because of the work of David Livingstone, there are thousands of missionaries on the field today; missionaries who love the same Lord Jesus who made Livingstone the hero that he was.
