  • What Children Need to Know When Parents Get Divorced

    William L. Coleman

Paperback (Bethany House, March 1, 1998)
Practical Help for Children Ages 6 to 12 from a Trusted Author and Licensed Family Counselor When read with a caring adult, this book can be the first step in bringing children of divorce toward much-needed emotional healing. Because it is often hard for children to express feelings, fears, and questions, it is easy to assume they are adjusting and coping with their parents’ divorce—when instead they may feel guilty that they are somehow to blame for the break-up. William L. Coleman provides an honest, understandable, and simple way for concerned adults to broach discussion of this sensitive subject with the children they care about, covering such crucial areas as: The uniqueness and importance of each child Reassurance of the continued love of both parents for the child Encouragement to talk openly of painful subjects Ways to show love to both parents, even the one who no longer lives with the child.

  • The History of Rock Mountain in Jefferson County, Alabama

    William (Bill) L. Coleman

Paperback (Dog Ear Publishing, LLC, Nov. 16, 2011)
Bill Coleman holds a BBA Degree from the University of Montevallo. An entrepreneur since the early 1980s, he is presently a website developer. Owner of five websites and an outdoors blog, his flagship site, www.gulf-shores-travel-guide.com, is one of the most heavily trafficked sites on the Alabama Gulf Coast. After living in the Gulf Shores, Alabama, area for eleven years, he and his wife Kathy moved back to Rock Mountain where he grew up. There, they spend most of their free time fishing in the lakes and walking on the trails. He also enjoys researching and collecting the history of Rock Mountain and the surrounding areas. When I'm enjoying the outdoors at Rock Mountain, I can't help but wonder about the people who were here before me. There is a big flat rock on Fire Tower Road where we like to picnic. It's a certainty that people have been enjoying meals on that rock for thousands of years. Those people walked the same trails and they waded in the same creeks as we do. Who were those people? Why did they leave this area? Who replaced them? Where did those people come from? Those are just a few of the questions that I have pondered during the half century since I first walked over Rock Mountain as a nine year old child. Rock Mountain has built a history of human occupation that spans more than 10,000 years, but history books have barely mentioned it. I set aside the time to write this book when I realized that I had witnessed much of the tangible history of Rock Mountain disappear, and it had never been recorded. Originally, I had planned to write a short history of personal observations from the time my family first came to Rock Mountain. During the time I was putting my thoughts together, I was also researching the history of the Native Americans who lived in this area. That led to reading about the first settlers who had traveled down the Huntsville Road to found Jonesboro. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that I should combine my personal history in this area with my research. I think that I've written a book that will be an entertaining read for those who want to know more about where they live, as well as a book for those who love history.

  • A Collection of the Facts and Documents, Relative to the Death of Major-General Alexander Hamilton: With Comments; Together With the Various Orations, ... on His Life and Character

    William Coleman

Hardcover (Forgotten Books, April 19, 2018)
Excerpt from A Collection of the Facts and Documents, Relative to the Death of Major-General Alexander Hamilton: With Comments; Together With the Various Orations, Sermons, and Eulogies, That Have Been Published or Written on His Life and CharacterI have maturely reflected on the subject of your letter of the 18th inst. And the more I have reflected the more I have become convinced, that I could not, without mani fest impropriety, make the avowal or disavowal which you seem to think necessary. The clause pointed out by Mr. Van Ness is in these terms I could detail to you a still more despicable Opinion which General Hamilton has ex pressed of Mr. Burr. To endeavour to discover the meaning of this declaration, I was obliged to seek in the antecedent part of this letter for the opinion to which it referred, as having been already disclosed. I found it in these words: General Hamilton and Judge Kent have declared in substance, that they looked upon Mr. Burr to be a dangerous man, and one who ought not to be trusted with the reins of government.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
