  • Shakespeare's Sonnets

    William Shakespeare

    eBook (, April 6, 2020)
The title of the quarto, Shakespeare’s Sonnets, is consistent with the entry in the Stationer Register. The title appears in upper case lettering on the title page, where it is followed by the phrase “Neuer before Imprinted”. The title also appears every time the quarto is opened. That the author’s name in a possessive form is part of the title sets it apart from all other sonnet collections of the time, except for one—Sir Philip Sidney’s posthumous 1591 publication that is titled, Syr. P.S. his Astrophel and Stella, which is considered one of Shakespeare’s most important models. Sidney’s title may have inspired Shakespeare, particularly if the “W.H.” of Shakespeare’s dedication is Sidney’s nephew and heir, William Herbert. The idea that the persona referred to as the speaker of the Shakespeare’s sonnets might be Shakespeare himself

Fairy SongOver hill, over dale,Thorough bush, thorough brier,Over park, over pale,Thorough flood, thorough fire!I do wander everywhere,Swifter than the moon's sphere; And I serve the Fairy Queen,To dew her orbs upon the green; The cowslips tall her pensioners be;In their gold coats spots you see; Those be rubies, fairy favours; In those freckles live their savours;I must go seek some dewdrops here,And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.William Shakespeare
  • Sonnets

    William Shakespeare

eBook (Les Editions de Londres, June 15, 2013)
William Shakespeare’s "Sonnets" are the most beautiful example of love poetry ever written. With their uplifting spirit, coherence, intensity and dealing with the passing of age, of time, the evanescence of beauty offset by the permanence of true feelings, the "Sonnets" are a keystone of the English language literature. Composed at a time when “Sonnet craze” was rampant in England, the Sonnets, like many other Shakespearan works, raise as many questions as answers: W.H., the Fair Youth, the Dark Lady, were they to be publicised? Rediscover the "Sonnets" in this new edition by Les Éditions de Londres.
  • The Sonnets

    William Shakespeare

    eBook (Ktoczyta.pl, April 26, 2019)
Shakespeare's sonnets cannot be overestimated; this is the best sort of poetry. How clean, voiced imagery. In general, in what language you do not read – the pleasure is provided. Idealization of the beloved, ode to his beauty, magnification by his Perfection. But what is interesting – the author sees the imperfections of a loved one, but literally forgives them. And nothing can darken the object of affection for him.
