  • The Hidden House

    ViVi Dubois

    language (, July 27, 2016)
Lionel Hartley, a boy living alone and on the cusp of high school graduation, always knew there was something strange about the street he lived on. It didn’t show up on maps, the air was colder, the birds were silent, and he was almost certain that most of the houses were empty. It was a peaceful place to live until a chance encounter on a cold autumn evening shook his very understanding of what was real.In the middle of the night, Lionel wakes to see a mysterious red-eyed figure lurking at his 2nd floor window. Soon after, the animal sacrifices begin to appear on his doorstep. And then he bumps into the pale-skinned young man from across the street, Morden Noir, who never seems to eat and claims that he can’t be exposed to sunlight. This was only the beginning. As matters escalate and become increasingly dangerous, Lionel’s moral integrity gets pushed to the limits as he’s forced to confront his own demons. Are these events coincidence? Or is there some deeper, more sinister conspiracy at work? With his world turned upside down, Lionel must decide if he wants to risk becoming a part of this darker mystery, or if he needs to escape it. And soon. ((This is a YA horror-fantasy with a male/male romance subplot.))
  • The Hollow Boy

    Vivi Dubois

    eBook (, Nov. 6, 2016)
Lionel Hartley is no longer alone. Over the past few months, through bitter trials and turmoil, he has surrounded himself with people he cares about, and who care about him in return. But this elation is short-lived; just as things seem to be settling down on Shadow Avenue, new troubles begin cropping up right at his doorstep. Forced to face what’s left of his family for the first time in years, Lionel uncovers a disturbing secret about his own origins. Meanwhile, his roommate Rik Tyler is grappling with his new life as a lycanthrope, and all of the pain and risks that come par for the course. The Noir family isn’t doing much better, as the siblings are still suffering the consequences of an attack on one of Lionel’s classmates. The victim keeps digging for the truth, and is attracting the attention of a dangerous new threat. As the stakes grow, the distinction between friend and foe become blurred and loyalties are tested. Lionel is torn between doing what’s morally right and what his heart compels him to. Can Lionel walk the line and somehow bring both sides together? Or will his neutral stance drive a friend to do the unforgivable? With so many factors weighing in against them, Lionel is faced with a terrible choice; to ensure the safety of others by ending a life, or to jeopardize everything to save it. A sequel to “Shadow Avenue: The Hidden House”, this story takes place where the previous instalment left off, and is meant to be read as a second act in the series. It may be difficult to follow if the previous book has not been read.Disclaimer: this is a YA horror-fantasy with a male/male romance subplot.
