When bullying victim Lucas Tavera wakes up from an accident with superpowers, he can't believe his luck - until the CIA shows up. Agents take him into custody and place him in the government’s vast underground bunker; there, Lucas learns that he is actually an android, an artificial human genetically constructed by a dark organization called the Rising for some unknown nefarious purpose. The US government gives him a choice: fight against his makers, or be put to sleep forever. As the months pass, Lucas successfully helps the CIA stop several bombing attempts, but the Rising’s overall goal remains unclear. Lucas' powers grow stronger by the day, yet no one in the agency can help him answer the questions: What exactly was he made to do, and who is he fighting against? As he begins to piece together what their plan for him and humanity might be, the evidence suggests that his purpose is much darker than anyone realized.
