    Will Thomas

Hardcover (Minotaur Books, Oct. 25, 2016)
"If you love Sherlock Holmes, historical mysteries, or just a good, rousing adventure, you'll love these books, too." - Laurell K. HamiltonAt the request of Her Majesty’s government, private enquiry agent Cyrus Barker agrees to take on his least favorite kind of assignment―he’s to provide security for a secret conference with the French government. The conference is to take place on the private estate of Lord Hargrave on a remote island off the coast of Cornwall. The goal of the conference is the negotiation of a new treaty with France. The cover story for the gathering is a house party―an attempt to introduce Lord Hargrave’s two unmarried sons to potential mates. But shortly after the parties land at the island, Lord Hargrave is killed by a sniper shot, and the French ambassador’s head of security is found stabbed to death. The only means of egress from the island―a boat―has been sent away, and the means of signaling for help has been destroyed. Trapped in a manor house with no way of escape, Cyrus Barker and his assistant, Thomas Llewelyn, must uncover which among them is the killer before the next victim falls.
  • Some Danger Involved: A Novel

    Will Thomas

    Hardcover (Touchstone, June 3, 2004)
An atmospheric debut novel set on the gritty streets of Victorian London, Some Danger Involved introduces detective Cyrus Barker and his apprentice, Thomas Llewelyn, as they work to solve the gruesome murder of a young scholar. When a student bearing a striking resemblance to artists' renderings of Jesus Christ is found murdered -- by crucifixion -- in London's Jewish ghetto, 19th-century private detective Barker must hire an assistant to help him solve the sinister case. Out of all who answer an ad for a position with "some danger involved," the eccentric and enigmatic Barker chooses downtrodden Llewelyn, a gutsy young man whose murky past includes recent stints at both an Oxford college and an Oxford prison. As Llewelyn learns the ropes of his position, he is drawn deeper and deeper into Barker's peculiar world of vigilante detective work, as well as the dark heart of London's teeming underworld. Together they pass through chophouses, stables, and clandestine tea rooms, tangling with the early Italian mafia, a mad professor of eugenics, and other shadowy figures, inching ever closer to the shocking truth behind the murder. Brimming with wit and unforgettable characters, and steeped in authentic period detail, Some Danger Involved is a captivating page-turner that introduces an equally captivating duo while signaling the start of an exciting career for Will Thomas.
  • Teenage Ramblings : 1999 Diary

    Thomas Williams

    language (, Feb. 21, 2013)
In 1998 I read the series of “Adrian Mole” books written by Sue Townsend. I connected with the character of Adrian and decided that I too could write my feelings down, I wanted to document and mark all the little things, that at the time I thought were so important - like watching a T.V show’s just because I might catch a glimpse of boobs! That Christmas my parents bought me a diary. My 1999 diary - which I guarded with my life, and hid in different places so nobody knew my secrets, of course if someone did find it they’d find out is that I was scared to talk to girls, I didn't care for school and was pretty mean about everyone even my friends. This diary didn’t really serve the purpose of documenting my achievements or fantastic memories - as more of a marker of how boring and pathetic I was. I stopped writing in the diary in August, when I just watched MTV all day, and that didn't really seem exciting enough to file away. I kept the diary and have always been aware that it was filed away with all my old pre-teen stuff and old toys that get stored in the loft when you hit puberty. I came across it every time I hunted around my loft looking for something, but I didn't peaked inside. I’d just keep hiding it away under something, just in case someone else in the family discovered it - like my sister.Until... now.

  • Carbon-14: The Shroud of Turin

    R.A. Williams

Paperback (Independently published, Sept. 9, 2017)
More than 99 percent of the evidence proves the Shroud of Turin is the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ. Only one test says otherwise—the carbon date performed in 1988. A serial killer with a fetish for fire targets the faithful of Tucson, Arizona. Homicide detective, Pete Johnston, works to catch the killer before more clergy are killed, before more churches are burned. His daughter, Amari, is a criminal justice major at the University of Arizona. When the Shroud is carbon dated at her university, the results reveal that the relic is a 650-year-old forgery. Amari investigates this ancient cold case file for a class project and makes a shocking discovery that could alter the fate of Christianity. She teams up with Dr. Kevin Brenner, a brilliant young experimental physicist, and together they gather evidence so they can plead their case to the Vatican—unless the killer can stop them first. Her father desperately tries to protect her and catch the killer before she becomes his next victim.
