  • Blood Echoes: The Infamous Alday Mass Murder and Its Aftermath

    Thomas H. Cook

    eBook (MysteriousPress.com/Open Road, Sept. 6, 2011)
Edgar Award Finalist: A true-crime account of a vicious massacre and the legal battles that followed. It was not a clever killing. On May 5, 1973, three men escaped from a Maryland prison and disappeared. Joined by a fifteen-year-old brother, they surfaced in Georgia, where they were spotted joyriding in a stolen car. Within a week, the four young men were arrested on suspicion of committing one of the most horrific murders in American history. Jerry Alday and his family were eating Sunday dinner when death burst through the door of their cozy little trailer. Their six bodies are only the beginning of Thomas H. Cook’s retelling of this gruesome story; the horrors continued in the courtroom. Based on court documents, police records, and interviews with the surviving family members, this is a chilling look at the evil that can lurk just around the corner.

  • The Verity and Value of the Miracles of Christ: An Appeal to the Common-Sense of the People

    Thomas Cooper

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, Dec. 23, 2015)
About the Book Biblical studies are a set of diverse disciplines that are concerned with a study of the Bible, i.e. the Tanach and the New Testament. There were four gospels comprising the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and these are the main sources of information about the life of Jesus. Bible studies itself draws on many disciplines ranging from archaeology, ancient history, cultural backgrounds, textual criticism, literary criticism, historical backgrounds, philology, and social science. As to philology for example, most of the Hebrew Bible, the Tanakh, which formed the basis of the Christian Old Testament, was written in Biblical Hebrew, with a few chapters rendered in Biblical Aramaic. On the other hand, the New Testament was written in Koine Greek. About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades. While these books may have occasional imperfections, we consider that only hand checking of every page ensures readable content without poor picture quality, blurred or missing text etc. That's why we: republish only hand checked books; that are high quality; enabling readers to see classic books in original formats; that are unlikely to have missing or blurred pages. Thomas Conner

language (Foundations, LLC, Oct. 10, 2016)
It’s early May in 1956 in the small South Alabama town of Farmington, and eleven year old Bobby Crosby’s life is about to change forever. He’s still anguishing over the death of his father even though it’s been five years, and he’s come to despise the life centered around his mother’s cafe, a place that turns into the revelrous hot spot of the community when the sun goes down. Bobby escapes his real world by sitting every night in the local movie theater, third row left down front. There, alone in the dark, he leaves Farmington far behind and melts into the world of the silver screen. Bobby’s best friend is Hucker Nolan, a twenty-two year old drop-out from the swamps across the tracks who drives a taxicab in the daytime and works concession at the movie theater at night. Now, Bobby’s world seems to be collapsing and there’s nothing he can do to stop it; his mother has a boyfriend Bobby desperately resents and his feelings for Hucker are confusing and ever changing, often filled with anger and jealousy Bobby doesn’t understand. Then, the worst thing possible happens to Bobby— he’s betrayed by the person he trusts the most.
