It would appear that I have written two stories about moving from the town to the countryside. Having written my first story The Tale of Miss Penelope Purr-Bright, circumstances came magically together and I moved from the town to the countryside near the coast.Jacob’s Magic Ears was inspired by a real-life English cocker spaniel that like myself moved from the town to the countryside; Jacob’s life was changing and he needed a home and our home was a welcoming and perfect place for him to live. The setting for this story is the rugged West Coast of Wales where nature and storytelling come together for some magical adventures. This story is a heartwarming tale full of adventure and fun along with learning points about dogs, nature, and living by the sea. Jacob’s Magic Ears is a story about a new puppy cocker spaniel. 'Jacob the brave is who I am,' he thinks as he runs along, it’s just as well he’s brave because there are times when things do go wrong.Jacob finds himself in many different situations as he grows up, some of them are great fun but others are a little scary for the young pup. Getting in and out of trouble this lively pup dashes and sometimes crashes through lots of adventures.The first two years of Jacob’s life are full of adventure and discovery along with a dusting of magic.First leaving his mum, sisters, and brothers, Jacob finds a happy home but only to find before too long he’s packed off to somewhere else.This story takes Jacob through the seasons and combines life with a young puppy, magic, a study of nature, the seaside and lots of information about living and caring for a new puppy. The story has a heartwarming Christmas finish.Jacob’s Magic Ears is a joyful romp along with a lively, sometimes silly but adorable pup.
