  • The Deep State Rides Again: How the Washington Establishment Continues to Try to Overturn the Will of the Voters

    Stephen Edward Browne

Audible Audiobook (Stephen Edward Browne, March 27, 2019)
In The Deep State Rides Again author Steve Browne lays out the case that the Deep State got rid of President Kennedy in 1963 and is currently trying to get rid of President Trump, only this time without bullets. The Deep State represents a danger to our democracy. Our government has no business trying to overthrow the will of the voters, especially not by murdering our duly elected president. However, that's what happened on November 22, 1963 in Dallas. What was back then referred to as the Washington Establishment and what we now call the Deep State (or sometimes just the "Swamp") conspired to murder President John F. Kennedy. The Deep State in the United States of America consists of the crooked politicians, the FBI, the Justice Department, the intelligence community, the mainstream media and a few others. This hasn't changed much since the early 1960's. And the Deep State is still trying to overturn the will of the voters. They still, a few generations later, have no intention of allowing democracy to work. They don't believe in our representative republic or our Constitution. They are doing everything in their considerable and growing power to substitute their agenda and policies for those of the duly elected president. And what is worse, they still succeeding and getting away with it. They're not using bullets this time, which gives us the illusion of progress, but the Deep State is still doing their best to either get rid of Donald Trump, our duly elected president, or stop him from implementing his agenda. While they're trying to have him thrown out of the White House, they're doing everything humanly possible, legal or otherwise, to make sure that he's unable to implement the agenda he was elected on. The objective of the Deep State hasn't changed in the last few generations. Whatever it takes, the Deep State has no intention of allowing our elected leaders to exercise power unless their agenda is in line with that of the Deep State. In The Deep State Rides Again author Steve Browne lays out what happened in Dallas on November 22, 1963 when President Kennedy was murdered, the events that led up to it, and what happened after. The listener will find out who was behind the Kennedy assassination. He also lays out the reasons behind what happened and what motivated the major players like Lyndon Johnson and J. Edgar Hoover to participate in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Finally, he describes how our history is repeating and what we can do about it.
  • Merchant Kings: When Companies Ruled the World, 1600--1900

    Stephen R. Bown

Hardcover (Thomas Dunne Books, Dec. 7, 2010)
Commerce meets conquest in this swashbuckling story of the six merchant-adventurers who built the modern worldIt was an era when monopoly trading companies were the unofficial agents of European expansion, controlling vast numbers of people and huge tracts of land, and taking on governmental and military functions. They managed their territories as business interests, treating their subjects as employees, customers, or competitors. The leaders of these trading enterprises exercised virtually unaccountable, dictatorial political power over millions of people. The merchant kings of the Age of Heroic Commerce were a rogue's gallery of larger-than-life men who, for a couple hundred years, expanded their far-flung commercial enterprises over a sizable portion of the world. They include Jan Pieterszoon Coen, the violent and autocratic pioneer of the Dutch East India Company; Peter Stuyvesant, the one-legged governor of the Dutch West India Company, whose narrow-minded approach lost Manhattan to the British; Robert Clive, who rose from company clerk to become head of the British East India Company and one of the wealthiest men in Britain; Alexandr Baranov of the Russian American Company; Cecil Rhodes, founder of De Beers and Rhodesia; and George Simpson, the "Little Emperor" of the Hudson's Bay Company, who was chauffeured about his vast fur domain in a giant canoe, exhorting his voyageurs to paddle harder so he could set speed records.Merchant Kings looks at the rise and fall of company rule in the centuries before colonialism, when nations belatedly assumed responsibility for their commercial enterprises. A blend of biography, corporate history, and colonial history, this book offers a panoramic, new perspective on the enormous cultural, political, and social legacies, good and bad, of this first period of unfettered globalization.
