Katherine will discover that life lessons are sometimes hard. She must learn what is important in life. Enter a handsome young colony boy, Jonathon. Katherine becomes Kate as she learns to love Jonathon. Over time they discover what is important in life, and what makes Kate the better half of Katherine.

This fourth book in the series takes up with Richard, son of John and Anne. Richard is a top pilot in the Space Corp. He flies a frigate. One day he sees a raw recruit named Tabitha. She is scared and being yelled at by the Sergeant that is briefing the group. Uncle James rescues Tabitha. Puts her in flight school. Richard trains her to be a fighter pilot. After a romance, they are married. Tabitha, a "colony" girl, picks up the story and describes her life on the colony, and connected to the colony.

In this sixth installment, we meet Kate's son, David. He meets Andrea. The daughter of a businessman that has recently moved to their colony. His wife is ill. He has heard of Kate and her abilities. He is hoping she can do something to help his wife. Andrea is too much like Kate used to be. Attitude on top of attitude. Andrea must learn what is important, and what is not, before David will even be interested in her. Follow their courtship and, eventual, marriage as they struggle to make a life on colony.
