  • The Watcher II: The Time of Suppression

    Saxon Andrew, Saxon Robinson

language (Saxon Andrew Publishing LLC, June 5, 2020)
From bestselling author Saxon Andrew comes the second book in the Watcher Series. The Watcher has been observing humans since the time their early ancestors lived in the trees in Africa. His ship had a catastrophic failure of the star drive and he was stranded on Earth. He spent most of those centuries just observing humans, but he was responsible for the arrival of Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals by manipulating the DNA of several tribes of early hominids; he learned after the fact that he made a mistake. He intended to stop humans from attacking other humans and his experiment failed dismally. Instead, they were more highly intelligent and learned how to kill other humans more effectively. From that point on, he stayed out of human development.Until humans planned a massive thermonuclear war. He intended to just let it happen and allow some other species to evolve to rule Earth. However, he discovered that a young human woman was pregnant with his child; that changed everything. He stopped the nuclear attack and placed a suppression field around earth preventing any weapons from operating. If humans intended to kill each other in the future, they would be forced to do it the old-fashioned way; spears, swords, bows and arrows and all the ancient weapons. He notified Earth that humans would be quarantined to their planet and not allowed to enter the billions of civilizations out in the universe until they quit killing each other. He knew that this change wouldn’t happen quickly and that millions were going to die before things turned for the better. This is the story of what it was like to live in the Age of Suppression.

  • The Fight for Britannia 2: Saving America

    Saxon Robinson, Saxon Andrew

eBook (Saxon Andrew Publishing LLC, Sept. 30, 2018)
From the International bestselling author, Saxon Andrew, comes the second book in the Fight for Britannia series, Saving America. Thousands of years in the past, three colony ships, the Britannia, Australia, and America, fled from Earth to escape dictatorial rule and a coming nuclear war and set out to find habitable planets for settlements far from Earth. The planet the Britannia Colony Ship settled has been destroyed by an advanced alien civilization. Its cities were laid waste and burned to the ground by orbital bombardment from a thousand alien warships. Many of Britannia’s survivors were moved to, Melbourne, the second colony which was founded by the Australia, but many chose to remain behind; they died when the aliens returned a year later and killed every one still alive on the planet.Grady and Taffy Henricks, along with Rory and Abby Dunhan, are committed to distracting Earth and the aliens from discovering Melbourne’s location. For over two years they have been using two small advanced warships which Grady developed to harass their enemies and keep them fighting against each other. However, the aliens have discovered Earth’s location and the war between them is taking on a new direction and intensity. The coming confrontation is going to be cataclysmic. The whereabouts of the third colony ship, the America, has remained a mystery. No one knows where in the Milky Way it went or even if it survived; Grady Henricks intends to go and find out. There are two dangerous civilizations that could destroy Melbourne if either of them discovers its existence. The aliens that destroyed Britannia, as well as Earth, have huge fleets of warships that greatly outnumber the forces Melbourne has available to defend it; construction of new warships is currently the prime focus of their government. Finding America is going to make the situation even more dangerous. Excerpt: Saving AmericaMaranda whipped the ship left and said, “Des, I’ve designated three ships directly above and behind us. Lock a missile on them and be prepared to launch!”The missile box dropped out of the bottom of the rabbit and the covers over the front tubes raised. “They’re locked in Maranda!” Des announced.Maranda snapped the ship around and went to maximum thrusters. The Brer Rabbit roared in on the three designated ships and Desmond launched the missiles. The three Fagan warships exploded, and the Brer Rabbit flew through the middle of them at its fastest speed. Maranda shut down all thrusters and used the bow air thrusters to turn the ship. She used maximum pressure and the Brer Rabbit turned vertical as hundreds of Fagan warships accelerated on the line it had taken out of the globe. Maranda kept her eye on the tactical monitor and moved the ship with the air thrusters whenever a Fagan ship moved close. In thirty minutes, the ship was clear of their formations and moving directly away from their former position. “How were they able to detect us, Maranda?”“It had to be the gravity thrusters, Des. The Fagan don’t use gravity drives, but they must be able to detect gravity anomalies. I’m keeping the gravity system shut down and if we need to move quickly, I’ll cover the rear thrusters with their covers.”The pace picks up and you'll find it hard to put the story down. Some decisions are difficult to make.; this is especially true in Saving America.

  • The Death Filament: Some Places Should Be Avoided

    Saxon Andrew, Saxon Robinson

    eBook
Number one bestselling author, Saxon Andrew presents the next book in the Filament Universe. The forces from the Combined Planets have defeated the Tronan Warships sent to investigate the disappearance of one of their vessels. However, the cost was high, the planet Heaven was destroyed. Now the thousands of survivors have resettled on Bellingham and know that the size of the next Tronan investigation would not be just a few hundred warships.Admiral Embree’s Fleet has been sent to hold position just outside Tronan Territory to give advanced warning of the next invasion and time was growing short for the Combined Planet’s forces to build enough forces to take them on. It’s estimated they have three or four years before the Tronan respond to their lost squadron. But building enough warships to take on the most dangerous vessels ever seen is a daunting task. Only vessels coated in Bellingham's impenetrable metal will be able to stand up to the Tronan Warships and constructed enough in time before the Tronan arrive just isn't possible..Sam Oliver has been placed in overall command of the Combined Forces Military and he knows time is not on his side. This time the Tronan were coming and he expects them to be bringing their giant warrior transports with them. Planets were going to die unless something changed. Gregor is tasked with stopping any invasion of a planet but his forces will be heavily outnumbered and building the transports to move them cannot be completed in time. The giant filament that ran from the Tronan Empire to the Combined planets was named the Death Filament. Death was coming on it and making sure it was the Tronan that died just didn’t look like it was remotely possible. The action picks up as Sam and his fellow Warriors of the Sword are faced with the reality of a universe filled with Tronan Warships above all civilized planets. Would Bellingham be the only refuge from the onslaught? The ‘Stories From the Filament Universe’ continues and will be hard to put down.Excerpt from The Death Filament:The Second looked at the data being sent from the Doggets and contacted the Fleet Director, “The Doggets have detected a large electronic signature emanating from the other side of the central star.”“What?”“We’re not able to see what is causing it but my Science Director says it’s strong enough to be coming from a planet.”“Send Doggets out to confirm it,” the Fleet Director ordered.“The filament ends on this side of the star, Fleet Director, and the Doggets would have to leave the filament and fly over or below the star to see what’s on the other side. That would take at least two days at their maximum speed. Are you willing to delay our attack that long?”The Prime Director interrupted their conversation, “No! You will destroy that fleet and then go after the planet!”The Fleet Director looked at his Second and said, “You have your orders.”The Tronan Fleets moved in toward the large fleet of warships, erupted from the filament and went to full speed in normal space. The fifteen-thousand warships they were rushing in on launched a massive missile barrage. The Second ordered, “Fire all blasters!”The Tronan Fleet flew at high speed into the oncoming wave of missiles and then the wave of missiles hit the edge of the Tronan blaster coverage. The trillium tipped missiles caused gigantic explosions and the leading edge of the Tronan formation flew into the explosions. Eight hundred Tronan Warships were blown apart. The Second yelled over his communicator, “ALL SHIPS STOP!”Review: Soul of the Swords:5.0 out of 5 starsGood job Mr. Andrew!Format: Kindle Edition|Verified PurchaseI took a chance with Gregor's Run and was sorry it ended. • Land in California: The Story of Mission Lands, Ranchos, Squatters, Mining Claims, Railroad Grants, Land Scrip, Homesteads

    W. W. Robinson

Paperback (University of California Press, Aug. 20, 1979)
The story of California can be told in terms of its land. Better still, it can be told in terms of men and women claiming the land. These men and women form a procession that begins in prehistory and comes down to the present moment. Heading the procession are Indians, stemming out of a mysterious past, speaking a babel of tongues, and laying claims to certain hunting, fishing, and acorn-gathering areas-possessory claims doomed to fade quickly before conquering white races. Following the brown-skinned Indians are Spanish speaking soldiers, settlers, and missionaries who, in 1769, began coming up through Lower California and taking over the fertile coast valleys and the harbors of California. Their laws were the Laws of the Indies controlling Spanish colonization and governing ownership of land. Missions, presidios, pueblos, and ranchos were born in the period of these people.
