'Imagine the excitement, the thrill of deciding your country’s future with a phone call, of having the power to change things, change people’s lives… while at the same time experiencing some of the best entertainment acts this country has to offer… ‘ (Igor Ratspee, egocentric TV producer-turned-meglomaniac)In Great Palvia Dante McDougall and his friend Chris wake up on the day before the coronation to discover their parents transfixed by a strange television programme which cannot be turned off. When the boys try to call relatives and friends all lines are unavailable and a disturbing message tells them to call later ‘when voting lines are open’.Over the course of a long day, Dante and his friends travel across the city to take on a manipulative villain who is trying to take over the country via a reality TV show, Monarch!. Desperately seeking help it soon becomes clear that knowing who to trust can be a difficult business. As the day draws to an end Dante, Clara and Chris and the mysterious Tiger-Cat are caught up in a race against time to stop Monarch! before hundreds of lives are lost.
