    Mary has always been different. She’d like to be normal, but being able to hear ghosts means she’ll never be like everyone else. She starts her junior year of high school hoping to be left alone, but Cyrus Asher is new and doesn’t know or seem to care that she’s a freak. They start hanging out and all is well until she goes over to his house. Cy’s house is haunted, and not by Casper, the friendly ghost.But it’s not the ghost that ruins the evening. That honor belongs to Vicky “The Hickey” Nelson with her borrowed Ouija board and stuck-up friends. They make Mary so angry that she uses the ghost to scare everybody, including Cy. He throws her out and Mary thinks she’s lost whatever chance she had with him. But there’s still the ghost to deal with. He’s nasty, mean, and possibly homicidal. Mary has to get rid of the ghost or Cy and his family could be hurt. Or worse.

He's smart, cruel, and unbalanced. And for some reason, he decides to sit beside Sarah Smith in every single class. He can go wherever he wants with his mind's eye, except one place. It's a place of death and shadows, and their relative Tracy Rathbone has been trapped there for nineteen years. Jake needs Mary's help to bring her home.Mary wants to help, but she's cautious. Tracy is in the land of Shadowmen, the terrifying creatures that slip through cracks and take a person's life force. Mary has only ever gone up against one Shadowman at a time and each time she has only barely won. Going up against an army of them would be impossible. She doesn't need to worry about the Shadowmen though. Tracy has a plan. She just needs Jake to bring Mary to her. She'll take care of the rest. Mary really should've asked more questions about the plan. Because it isn't so much an escape plan as a trade, and Mary's the one being traded.Abandoned, alone, and scared, Mary must figure out how to get home and take back her stolen life.

You conjure him.”“But why would anyone want to?”“Because people are sometimes stupid,” Rachel said.Jenny is a little stupid, at least that’s what Mary thinks. Why else would the teen go to an abandoned house by herself and play a game to summon a monster called Mr. Conjure? Mary doesn’t believe he exists, but Jenny insists that he’s out to get her. She’s so afraid of him that she attempts suicide. Rachel wants to help Jenny and needs Mary to do it. Mary thinks Jenny needs a shrink, not her. She’s sure Mr. Conjure isn’t real. But something is lurking in the dark, and if it can’t get Jenny, it’ll take Mary instead.

Eddie’s grandma is possessed. But the ghost swears that she’s protecting the elderly woman because there’s something scarier than ghosts at the nursing home. An angel of death stalks the building. With Eddie and her friends, Mary must find the angel of death and stop them, but how do you stop an angel? Mary will have to figure that out before the angel strikes again.

Regina wants them to go to Alabama to help a group of paranormal investigators, who are making a reality show. They've stumbled onto a real haunted house, and if no one steps in, they're going to get themselves killed. But Mary doesn't really care about that. She wants to go because Jake lives in Alabama. And she hopes to meet him. But when Gran’s kidnapped, Mary no longer hopes to meet Jake, she has to meet him. He’s her only hope of rescuing Gran. But mysteriously, he has stopped answering her texts. To save Gran, Mary not only has to contend with two malevolent ghosts but also the paranormal investigators who will stop at nothing to capture evidence of the paranormal. If they have to, they’ll put Gran and Mary at risk. They will get the ghosts one way or another. You know how ghosts are made, right?This is the fourth book in The Scary Mary Series.

Between catching up with classes, she has to contend with Damien’s hot/cold mood swings. One moment he’s her best friend; the next, he’s completely ignoring her. He’s the most difficult boyfriend in the world, but he isn’t Sarah’s boyfriend. So why’s she stuck with all of the difficulties? And it doesn’t help that Noah Nash has entered the mix. If she thought she had trouble with the richest boy in school, that’s nothing compared to the second richest. She knows Damien likes her. She’s not sure if Noah cares about her at all, as in if she were drowning, would he bother to throw her a rope? Actually, she suspects he’d be the one to push her into the water.So what’s the poorest girl at a rich academy supposed to do with the two richest boys?
