Hardcover (Cupples & Leon Co., Jan. 1, 1910)
One in a series of boys' adventure stories, this book finds Mark and Jack enrolled in the Universal Electrical & Chemical College where they meet the inventor Santell Roumann. This is an early science fiction novel that has triggered the interest of many young readers in science. Note to parents: Unfortunately, there is a recurring African-American character in this series, named Washington, whose description as an ignorant and comedic foil is now offensive: excellent way to begin a conversation on changes over the last 100 years. 248 pages.
