  • Dogged Pursuit: My Year of Competing Dusty, the World's Least Likely Agility Dog

    Robert Rodi

Hardcover (Hudson Street Press, June 11, 2009)
Best in Show meets Marley and Me in the hilarious (mis)adventures of an unlikely duo competing for glory on the pro dog circuitAn urban intellectual and a scruffy, disobedient Sheltie team up to conquer the Canine Agility pro-circuit in this hysterical account of the quest for glory in the competitive dog world. A cousin to the popular best-in-breed show, agility competitions resemble doggie boot camp: dogs scamper across teeter-totters, jump tires, and scoot down tunnels-without leashed guidance from a human. Taking home ribbons requires a focused handler and a cooperative dog. Robert Rodi is a self-proclaimed Blue-stater who prefers fine wine and Italian literature (in Italian) to SUVs and suburban sprawl. His dog Dusty's scrawny build and skittish personality make him an unnatural competitor. Nevertheless, Rodi recounts a year filled with victories, failures, and hysterical personalities, and the loving bond between one man and his bug-eyed dog.
  • Further Adventures Of Jahziel The Fisher Boy

    Robert P. Burton

Paperback (Independently published, Feb. 2, 2019)
This is the second book in the series of Jahziel the Fisher Boy. In the first book, we meet Jahziel as the boy who supplies Jesus with a few fish and pieces of bread that Jesus miraculously multiplies in order to feed a great number of people. Jahziel and his father Shellim travel with Jesus throughout the towns around the Sea of Galilee and then down to Jerusalem while they witness Jesus' character and are enlightened by the truth of His teachings. Shellim has to get back to his fishing but allows Jahziel to remain with Jesus as a scribe. In our present book, Jahziel travels with Jesus and His disciples through Samaria and into Galilee to Nazareth. Jahziel gets to meet Jesus' mother Mary and His Family. Yet before they get to Nazareth they encounter: The Woman At The Well, The Good News Shepherds, The Witches of Endor and others. All of these experiences cause Jahziel to mature in his faith while becoming more assured that Jesus is the Messiah. -- As a prelude to this book, please read John 6:9 in the New Testament.
  • A Witch Shall Be Born

    Robert E.

    Paperback (Robert E. Howard, April 29, 2017)
"Taramis, queen of Khauran, awakened from a dream-haunted slumber to a silence that seemed more like the stillness of nighted catacombs than the normal quiet of a sleeping place. She lay staring into the darkness, wondering why the candles in their golden candelabra had gone out. A flecking of stars marked a gold-barred casement that lent no illumination to the interior of the chamber. But as Taramis lay there, she became aware of a spot of radiance glowing in the darkness before her. She watched, puzzled. It grew and its intensity deepened as it expanded, a widening disk of lurid light hovering against the dark velvet hangings of the opposite wall. . ."

  • Life and Death of Adolf Hitler

    Robert Payne

Hardcover (Hippocrene Books, March 1, 1990)
A New York Times Bestseller In The Life And Death of Adolf Hitler, biographer Robert Payne unravels the tangled threads of Hitler's public and private life and looks behind the caricature with the Charlie Chaplin mustache and the unruly shock of hair to reveal a Hitler possessed of immense personal charm that impressed both men and women and brought followers and contributions to the burgeoning Nazi Party. Although he misread his strength and organized an ill-fated putsch, Hitler spent his months in prison writing Mein Kampf, which increased his following. Once in undisputed command of the Party, Hitler renounced the chastity of his youth and began a sordid affair with his niece, whose suicide prompted him to reject forever all conventional morality. He promised anything to prospective supporters, then cold-bloodedly murdered them before they could claim a share of the power he reserved for himself. Once he became Chancellor, Hitler step by step bent the powers of the state to his own
