And this is what Jesus means when he says, "I am The Truth." What this teaches us is that truth in Jesus is the best of all truth. It is better for us to know what the Bible teaches about him than to know every thing else in the world besides. This is our subject to-day. The truth in Jesus is the best of all truth. And the reasons for this we shall see, as soon as we begin to consider what this truth does for us. I wish to show that there are three things which the truth in Jesus does for us. These are things that no other truth in the world can do; and thus we know that this is the best truth. It may help us to remember these three things, if we bear in mind that each of them begins with the letter S. Jesus says, "lam the truth." Now, in the first place, the truth in Jesus is the best of all truth, because it Sanctifies OB Makes Us GOOD. To sanctify, means to make good, or holy. And the pattern, or model of goodness, set before us in the Bible, is the example of Jesus. He is the best, the most perfect of all beings. And if it were possible for us to go with this question to the angels of heaven, as well as the inhabitants of all the other worlds that God has made, we should come back to our own world without finding a better answer to the question we had taken with us than the words of the same hymn, which tell us,--"There's none like Jesus."
