  • WELCOME TO TRUMP'S GREENLAND

    RICHARD HEAGY

Paperback (Northfleet Publishers, Sept. 16, 2019)
WELCOME TO TRUMP’S GREENLAND is another book from the Author of SATIRE Today for the entertainment and enjoyment of those who still have a sense of humor.Although WELCOME TO TRUMP’S GREENLAND is written in satirical form, it might be more accurately described as a parody of Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll, this time featuring President Trump instead of Alice. The adventure starts when the President crosses the street in New York City, trips on a metal obstruction at the curb, flies through the air and falls down a large hole, much like Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland though there is no rabbit at the bottom. He awakens to find himself in one of his luxury hotels (recently opened in Greenland)—the Welcome to Trump’s Greenland—dressed much as the Mad Hatter from Carroll’s book—but with a red sash across his chest with gold letters that read: The CHOSEN-ONE. He tours the hotel, and in the lobby meets the three bellhops—the THREE, FOUR and FIVE of SPADES—and the Cheshire Cat. He is forced to play croquet—instead of golf—with the first hoop formed by the TWO, THREE and FOUR of SPADES. The stock market tanks after he sends a tweet with a typo, followed by Greenland melting and sinking into the ocean, and Trump drifting in a lifeboat with a tall BLUE RABBIT who claims to be Al Gore. Satire has been around since the days of Aristophanes in ancient Greece and this book brings things up to date with one of the latest proposals by President Trump—to buy Greenland. Those who ridicule President Trump conveniently forget that one of their own party—President Harry Truman—offered to buy Greenland in 1946 for $100,000,000. On the other hand, they can ridicule his reported offer to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland. The book also includes a related satire: GET THE PRESIDENT – DOJ Black Book, by the author.
