This historic and speculative novel is loosely based on the life and times of Harry Crosby who shot his girlfriend and two hours later he killed himself. They were found fully clothed with their shoes off and their toenails painted red. After this incident, Harry’s wife Caresse moved to an estate in Bowling Green Virginia, where she wrotepornography for Henry Miller and Anis Nin in the 1940’s. In 1983 John and Julia Gavis dug up their father, who was killed by their youngerbrother, along with their mother and brother in 1978. This was in Spotsylvania, Virginia, a fewmiles from Hampton Manor, an estate, where Caresse Crosby lived. When charged withdisinterment of a human body, John and Julia were wearing multiple layers of breadwrappers on their feet and hands and said it was to keep the demons away. The two tales were linked by proximity. 5.0 out of 5 Stars - What a read! This book blew me away. Top Contributor: HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER5.0 out of 5 Stars Richard’s voice is new in more ways than simply being fresh to the literary world. His writing is complex, weaving through various periods of time – the present, the last century, Egyptian mythology, and more – and combining both quotations and borrowings from authors and artists of the past such as Salvador Dali, F Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Ezra Pound, Henry Miller, mixing these into letters of the past and of the resent and wild rides into delusions, drugs, sex and more. His writing is mesmerizing and thought-provoking and at all times entertaining. His book is not unlike a massive puzzle – one with missing pieces until the events scurry around to make them present. He writes fine mysteries and rolls them through his kaleidoscope of imagination and mythology and history and all the arts and the end product is dazzling.5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read Mature audience horror story of the highest caliber!
