  • The Mass for Children

    Rev. William R. Kelly

Paperback (Hillside Education, May 26, 2014)
The Mass for Children is a beautiful explanation of the Traditional Catholic Latin Mass for children. In this full color reprint, Father Kelly gives the scriptural and historical background for the parts of the Mass. For example, when the altar boy moves the Missal from the right side of the altar to the left, he is representing the shift from the old law (Jewish religion) to the new law (Christian religion). "The Jewish religion was meant to get people ready for Our Lord. When He came, he gave us our perfect religion," Father explains. A great First Communion prep supplement, this book would be a great gift for any child who wants to understand and follow the Mass.

  • Personal Reminiscences of Charles Haddon Spurgeon

    Rev. William Williams

(CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, June 12, 2018)
The author, William Williams, became pastor at Upton Chapel, Lambuth, in 1877. He was a close friend of C. H. Spurgeon. In his introduction to the book, Williams stated, “I do not propose to write another life of Mr. Spurgeon. I propose writing of the great preacher as I knew him, and as I saw him, under a great variety of circumstances and conditions; giving, I trust, no offence in anything, that this ministry be not blamed. I hope in the ensuing chapters each reader may participate to some extent in the joy I experienced when in company with one of the master minds and most gracious characters of this or indeed of any age.” Williams also complied a book of sermons: Upton Chapel Sermons. A Centenary Memorial, which was published in 1885. Charles Haddon Spurgeon wrote the Foreword.

  • Life in Victoria, or Victoria in 1853 and Victoria in 1858, Vol. 1 of 2: Showing the March of Improvement Made by the Colony Within Those Periods, in ... Cities and Diggings

    William Kelly

Hardcover (Forgotten Books, Feb. 2, 2018)
Excerpt from Life in Victoria, or Victoria in 1853 and Victoria in 1858, Vol. 1 of 2: Showing the March of Improvement Made by the Colony Within Those Periods, in Town and Country, Cities and DiggingsI have endeavoured to narrate faithfully the chequered vicissitudes of my various avocations, because they tend in a great measure to illustrate the unprecedented progress of the colony in its social, political, commercial, and mining phases; and though many of the details may be devoid of that stirring interest suited to the desultory reader, I trust they are so far imbued with truthful information as to redeem them from any general verdict of condemnation. Interest, it may be said, is a condiment capable of being manufactured specially to flavour literary ragouts; but as such an article only amalgamates genially with apocryphal information, I preferred telling my story without any such seasoning, rather than have the authenticity of the scattered crumbs of intelli gence it contains called in question.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
