  • My Bed Is My Best Sleeping Place

    Rebecca North

    eBook
This ebook is available on any device via the free Amazon Kindle app.Half of all royalties received for these book sales are donated to charity. See www.RebeccaNorth.org for more details and for other titles. This story is a light-hearted and humorous approach to address why your little one is better off sleeping in their own bed. After these fun loving explanations of how other places don't work out as well, it is easy to see that their own room is best place to sleep! Author Rebecca North uses her education as well as the things she has learned in family ed classes to create stories that are enjoyable for both guardians and their children so bedtime can be an enjoyable experience for all."This book was written because both of my children went through a phase where they wanted to sleep just about any place other than their beds. Night after night, we would run a course of hypothetical scenarios with the kids and each time, my husband and I would do our best to describe how the idea only sounds good in theory. Ultimately, everyone rests best in their own beds where they have their own tailor made sleeping space and are free from unnecessary distractions. As usual, I incorporated some silliness to keep it light-hearted and some fun rhymes to keep it fun for the reader and the audience. These are the elements I've found to be most pleasing throughout the years of reading bedtime books."Happy Reading! With Love, Rebecca
  • Why Sleep

    Rebecca North

    language (, June 28, 2015)
This ebook is compatible with any device via the free Amazon Kindle app.Author Rebecca North uses her education and what she learned in early childhood family ed classes in conjunction with her own personal experience in the struggles and triumphs of little ones at bedtime to create this heart warming nighttime book. Half of all proceeds from book sales are donated to charity. See www.RebeccaNorth.org for more details and for other titles. Designed with the reader in mind, it is meant to be light-hearted as well as educational to children, using words they can understand about the whys of sleep and just how it is so important."I wrote Why Sleep because my son would have a tendency to think my husband and I were putting him and his sister to bed so we could clock out for the night. He felt like he was missing out on fun times and that it was unfair he couldn't stay up later with us. By explaining what happens when we sleep on a slightly physiological level, both of my kids came to appreciate how valuable and important night time is for rest. In the book, I lightly touch on how our brains pare away unimportant information while we sleep so there's more space for new things each day. There are fun analogies that demonstrate other aspects as well. My hope is for this book to be a communication tool for children and for these teachings to be a basis for a lifelong healthy relationship with sleep. As usual, I incorporated some silliness to keep it light-hearted and some fun rhymes to keep it fun for the reader and the audience. These are the elements I've found to be most pleasing throughout the years of reading bedtime books."Happy Reading! With Love,Rebecca
