Going on a Plane is a social story about what happens at the airport and on a plane. This edition has been updated to include experiences on short and long-haul flights, such as meals, in-flight entertainment, and sleeping. Social stories help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as neurotypical children, know what to expect when doing something they have never, or rarely, done before. The aim of this book is to prepare young children for traveling by plane by describing the process with very simple language and photographs of a real child in a real airport and plane setting. It covers such things as lining up, waiting, sitting, waiting, loud noises, more waiting, and examples a few very simple activities to do on the flight. Written by a mother of a child on the autism spectrum, this book will help many families to travel happily.
