Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, June 29, 2013)
Sara Ann Dungan has enough to deal with at home and her kid sister without getting shot to another planet with all their problems. Besides the fact that he’s green, her guide Camidon is plain rude. She thought he was leading her on the fast track to return to Earth. But dodging arrows and giant snakes seem all a part of his plan not to help her get home, but to rip control of their country from the upstart Lord Brock. The rebels are reasonably suspicious of pale Sara, and Camidon is torn between keeping his own promises or doing what logic would more reasonably dictate. The mythical Awkites seem the only answer – one hope for two paths. But can myths exist? Time is running out in her own world. Will any of this be enough for Sara to find her way home in time to save her sister?

  • War Unicorn

    S. L. Carlson

Paperback (Ebound Canada, Oct. 9, 2017)
Aldric is content working in his family’s apple orchard—or as content as a fourteen-year-old-boy can be doing chores and dreaming up new magic—when he digs up an antique ring and releases a rude spell-bound unicorn. She claims she belongs to the king, but after her long imprisonment, she can’t tell Aldric which king that might be. Aldric promises to take her to the capital, and suddenly a simple three-day trip becomes an adventure.War is building on his country’s borders, and even with the help of Aldric’s new friend Iggy, and Gwen, the general’s daughter, it’s going to take all the military sword training, courage, and magic Aldric has to find the unicorn’s rightful king. Promises will be made, the bonds of family and friendship will be tested, with a war which changes everything. Can an apple farmer and one rude war unicorn save the country from the approaching enemy?
  • Two Texans in Two World Wars: John E Carlson

    James R. Carlson

    (, Oct. 26, 2017)
John Emil Carlson and John Benton Carlson were a part of the Swedish community in Central Texas where they learned the love of God and Country. J.E. Carlson was J.B. Carlson's favorite Uncle and namesake. They both grew up on a farm in Texas and learned the value of hard work. And when their country called upon them, they both served their country with honor. The story of WWI was one of average Americans called to serve their country in a time of international crisis. Like thousands of others, John E. Carlson answered the call of duty and fought overseas. His journey with the goth Infantry Division on the Western Front in France as a light machine gunner shows the courage of the men who fought on the front lines. They won the war and with the Occupation of Germany, they also won the peace. The story of WWII is in part a continuation of the first world war as the second world war was begun by a German corporal who lost his fight in WWI. After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, Hitler declared war on the U.S. and American went to war again. John B. Carlson answered the call of duty, like his uncle, and prepared for the Invasion of Japan. However, two nuclear bombs ended the war and Carlson would instead serve in the Occupation of Japan. This is their story.
