National bestseller novelist RWK Clark dazzled readers in the fight for life, against the threat of a lifetime, in this electrifying drama romance.Calvinâs obsession may prove devastating to the woman he loves, as well as the rest of humanity.Enjoy this influential tale of grief, and love's enduring bonds, that is sure to hold you hostageâit could prove fatal.Author CommentaryâPassage of Timeâ is actually one of my personal favorites, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.This was never intended to be a thriller novel; it just barely makes it into the science fiction realm, only doing so because of the âfountain of youthâ premise.Calvin Cooper is a man with a mission. A scientist, both by trade and by nature, Calvin wants to help others look and feel younger. Early on, he meets Elaina, the woman destined to be the love of his life and his eternal companion. Together, Calvin believes they will conquer the world. With her patience, he will come up with the end-all, be-all solution, and then they will be together forever, literally. There is no end to Elainaâs loyalty or patience. It was important to create in her, a character who is totally devoted, no matter what she may face with her man. Throughout their lives, and his work, she is his rock, and his love for her knows no bounds. Unfortunately, she is also the only one who looks at things realistically, and Calvin is destined to learn one of the most painful lessons of his life through her.Elaina could spell things out for him, but his genius has stolen his ability to look at things from the heart. He reassures himself that when the formula is perfected, the two of them will enjoy eternity in each otherâs arms.Calvin Cooper is, in a sense, every man. Anyone with any level of personal accountability or love in their heart wants to give the world to those who are the objects of his affection. If that man is able to cause his wife to live forever, he would, as would Calvin.Yes, I wrote âPassage of Timeâ to be a love story. I wrote it with the intent of making readers feel the love between Calvin and Elaina in a very tangible sense, and I hope I succeeded in that goal. But above and beyond that, this book was meant to make the reader consider who they have to love, and whether or not they are doing all that they can to demonstrate that love during the limited time they have. As we all know, there is no secret potion, no âElainaYouthâ to consume that will give us countless years to revel in the gift of life. What each of us has, all that we have, is the here and now that ultimately makes up that thing we call âtoday.âI believe mature readers will find âPassage of Timeâ to be compelling and thought-provoking. I believe it will stimulate a spirit of gratefulness and will leave readers with the simple satisfaction of having read a good book. In the end, that is the purpose of fiction, after all, and âPassage of Timeâ is no exception.
