A strange land shrouded in mystery, an ancient family rivalry and an unexpected love story..'A Foretelling' tells the story of fifteen year old Bea (Beatrice) Winters following her return to Angleskerra having been brought up by her unocle in distant, sun-drenched Mantabia. As Bea settles down to life at Averlie Hall, (as much as she can in a land besieged by earthquakes, thunderstorms and tornadoes) she learns about the ancient rivalry between the Selkie and Astral families, and about the Amber Wars, memories of which are still raw among Averlie's residents. As Bea discovers more about the mysterious ancient families and how they seem somehow connected to the extreme weather phenomena, she is forced to grapple with uncomfortable questions about her own heritage and face dangers that only her friends, Molly, Horace, Taelor and the inscrutable Collier, can help her confront.
