  • Traveling the World with Yaya

    Peter Lin

Paperback (Independently published, Aug. 12, 2019)
After returning to Hualien a dozen years ago, a friend took me to this beautiful village called Yuemei. I fell in love with the place, and County Road 193 that leads to and from it, at first sight. It is a place I can never grow tired of.Under a unique circumstance I joined a project hosted by Self Publishing College, and Yuemei came to mind almost instantly, as well as the resident artist Pahawlan Cilan in Yuemei, and his exhibiting work Traveling Taiwan with Yaya. After several observations and interviews, I came to realize that the boars residing in Mt. Yuemei often come down and visit, confirming the relationships between the wild boar Yaya and the children of Yuemei. This is the era of global village where the entire world is as one. Thanks to the support of Principal Liao Jen-Yi and the entire faculty and students of Yuemei Elementary, I hope by publish this graduation yearbook in the season when Flamboyanttree blooms, and under the guidance of art and optimism, to connect the children of Yuemei and wild boar Yaya with the vast world and its boundless wonders.Friends, letโ€™s buckle up and chill! Itโ€™s time to travel the world with Yaya!
