“The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw,” a classic comedy novel for 9 -12 year olds. From the author of the hilarious, “Hacker Gran,” recently Number 2 in Amazon USA Kindle mystery / thrillers & suspense comes a new pet whodunnit for Christmas!Puppy Poor Paw is a regular puppy whose life is about to change. While Christmas shopping with mum and dad, he is attacked and left for dead by two bungling teenagers, Jerv and Nunky. With his memory gone he seeks help from a group of lost puppies but soon realises that he holds a secret which the evil Dr Kunopegos is desperate to steal from him.As the clock starts ticking, Puppy Poor Paw still doesn’t know what that secret is - and he just may not live long enough to find out!˃˃˃ Interview with the author.˃˃˃ What makes “The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” so special?“The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” is a warm, comic puppy dog drama for Christmas. It’s the tale of a taking puppy dog with a purpose. A lost puppy dog who seeks his true identity and discovers the meaning of friendship. It’s a little like Oliver Twist meets the Fugitive.˃˃˃ Is it a pet whodunnit?Yes, I suppose you could say it’s a sort of puppy whodunnit. But although it’s a kid’s action comedy adventure, at its heart, “The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” deals with social issues such as relationships, friendships, egotism, delusion, trust and ultimately success.˃˃˃ Why should readers give this book a try?For children or adults who enjoyed reading, “Hacker Gran,” the Puppy Poor Paw series contains a similar array of funny characters including Zico and Blade, two East End puppy gangster twins, a crow who “understands” hairstyles, an Easter Bunny who enjoys a pint at the pub and in later books, a professor who buys a Time Machine on eBay. Although it might seem a bit frightening on first viewing, rest assured, “The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” is anything but scary and needless to say, no puppies were injured during the writing of the book! I think it’s a great book for the pre-teen audience and beyond.˃˃˃ Does “The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” come with teaching resources like “Hacker Gran?”Yes, there’s even a bonus for teachers. As with “Hacker Gran,” free access to Key Stage 2 (ages 7 to 11 years) teaching resources linked to “The Adventures of Puppy Poor Paw” are available on my website.Scroll up and grab a copy today.

  • Pirates and Promises

    Peter Gredan Davies

Paperback (Troubador Publishing Ltd, Oct. 19, 2015)
Pirates, wreckers, galley slaves, magic tricks, unusual battle tactics and storms and fires come together in this explosive new children's novel! Cornish twins Becca and Jack Tremayne save the life of the mysterious Azfer Hakeem when he is shipwrecked on a nearby beach. Azfer turns out to be Lebanese royalty who, in his armed merchant ships, trades between the Mediterranean and the rest of Europe. Honour-bound to repay his debt to the twins, he agrees to try and find their parents, Kerenza and Brethoc, who were captured by Barbary (North African) pirates in 1615, two years previously. During Azfer's recuperation he is befriended by the two children and inspires them by conjuring tricks and telling tales of his distant travels. Using his royal connections and influence, Azfer's spies discover that Kerenza is being held captive in the court of the Governor of Algiers and it is rumoured that Brethoc is a galley slave. In their ensuing adventure, Azfer, his intrepid multinational crew and Becca and Jack journey towards the shores of North Africa, facing danger from gunfire, pirates and storms, and attempt a daring outrageous rescue and solve an old mystery that has long haunted their Cornish village... Pirates and Promises is an exciting, fast-moving yet heart-warming tale that will propel young readers aged 9-12 headlong, only allowing them brief rests to gulp a lungful of salty sea air before being thrust back into the twins' adventure once more...
