Hello, my name is Peter Carlock. City Stories were born over twenty years ago when I started making them up as bedtime stories for my niece, Selina. Since then, City has had countless stories and adventures. He has met a vast number of characters and has entertained my oldest, Josh, now twelve; Eli, now seven; and continues to entertain Maya, now three. It is my hope that City and his friends Josh and Cleo will continue to entertain children of all ages at bedtime for a long time to come. I hope they will find City and his friends funny, educational, and just simply put a smile on their face. The day Rocky became Brian’s chocolate Labrador was the first best day of his life. The second best day was when he met Molly, the cocker spaniel next door. The dog life has been a good one—chasing grasshoppers, playing tug-of-war, swimming in the lake—but Rocky also wanted to be a service dog. He wanted to be a police dog and go through the police academy. Molly, too, had her own dreams of being a show dog and competing in the dog show after her stint in beauty school. However, following their dreams meant they would have to leave each other and their childhood homes, and saying goodbye is bittersweet. Rocky’s life as a police dog is a dangerous one, but Molly’s journey to become a show dog did have its bad guys.
