Thomas hears a voice in the rafters above his bedroom on the first night, and he and his brothers get to meet Vladimir Goulthwaite, the Yorkshire vamipire, who is helping Inspector Mollach of the Vampire police to search for Ponsonby before he can cause any trouble in Yorkshire.They persuade Vlad to let them help him find the criminal, and against his better judgement, he allows them to get involved. The search is dangerous, and Thomas has to keep his wits about him so that he and his younger brothers don’t become Ponsonby's latest snacks.
