    P. G. Wodehouse

eBook (Prabhat Prakashan, Feb. 2, 2018)
Lady Maud, the spirited young daughter of the Earl of Marshmoreton, is confined to her home, Belpher Castle in Hampshire, under aunt's orders because of an unfortunate infatuation. Enter our hero, George Bevan, an American who writes songs for musicals and is so smitten with Maud that he descends on Hampshire's rolling acres to see off his rival and claim her heart. Meanwhile, in the great Wodehousian tradition, the Earl of Marshmoreton just wants a quiet life pottering in his garden, supported by his portly butler Keggs and free from the demands of his bossy sister and his silly-ass son.
  • The Pothunters

    P.G. Wodehouse

    Hardcover (Everyman, March 26, 2010)
When someone breaks into the cricket pavilion and steals two silver cups, the whole school is agog. Could it possibly be an inside job? Nothing less than the honour of St Austin's is at stake, not to mention the reputation of Jim Thomson, an excellent athlete with a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.In this charming novel of school life, the first book he published, Wodehouse demonstrates right away a talent for story telling and characterisation, not to mention a sharp ear for the inflections of schoolboy speech, still recognisable after more than a century. But what marks the story out from others of the same sort are the many humorous touches which hint at a master of comedy in the making.
  • Right Ho, Jeeves

    P. G. Wodehouse

    eBook (Digireads.com Publishing, Sept. 7, 2019)
First published in the “Saturday Evening Post” from December of 1933 to January 1934, “Right Ho, Jeeves” is P. G. Wodehouse’s second full-length novel, following “Thank You, Jeeves”, featuring his beloved characters Bertie Wooster and his highly capable valet, Jeeves. At the outset we find Bertie returning from Cannes to discover that his old friend Gussie Fink-Nottle has been regularly visiting Jeeves to ask his advice in matters of the heart. Gussie, shy and timid, is in love with the silly, young Madeline Bassett, and is intent on courting her. Madeline is a friend of Bertie’s cousin, Angela Travers, and Bertie takes it on himself to help Gussie and refuses any more advice from Jeeves in the matter. As one would expect with Bertie’s involvement, hilarious mistakes and misunderstandings abound. As part of his foolish schemes, Bertie inadvertently gets Gussie drunk when he is due to hand out prizes at a school and the result is a scene hailed as one of the most comical in all of English literature. Before long Bertie admits defeat and Jeeves is implored upon to sort everyone out and fix his mess. “Right Ho, Jeeves” was an immediate critical and commercial success and is considered to this day to be one of the funniest and most entertaining of all English novels. This edition is printed on premium acid-free paper.
