  • Humble Frog and His 127 Music Loving Friends

    Oliver F. Grimley

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Aug. 30, 2013)
Humble Frog is a delightful story of the Father of all frogs. He was blessed with the most beautiful of voices. Animals from all over the world came to hear him sing and perfect their own voices. When the local King hears of this he summons Humble Frog to the castle to perform for the court. In his pride, he stops singing for his friends. He must save his voice, for now he will be famous and live in the high mountain Palace with the King. However, the change from damp swamp to dry palace permanently changes his voice to an enormous "Burrump!" Humble Frog is expelled from the palace as an Imposter and sent back to the swamp where his 127 animal friends celebrate his return. While his old beautiful voice is still gone, to the ears of his True Friends, the new "Burrump" is still beautiful. At the end of the book the parents and children are invited to go back and identify each of the animals found decorating the pages of the story. This book gives parents and grandparents a "teaching moment" to discuss with their children the values of true friendship and the pitfalls of pride. The interactive nature allows this book to be read over and over again as the children come to recognize 127 animals by name and description. This is truly a wonderful family values book.

Nor, while the bright-eyed celandine, With bashful mien, Lifts to the bridegroom Sun's embrace Her virgin face, Thy altar lack for votive bays. I THE SWEET O' THE YEAR. 103 THE SWEET O' THE YEAR. TO pass the spring alone Were folly; Even as to groan For melancholy, When all the world is young, Were to be most untrue. Ah! when the skies are blue, And broidered hawthorns blow. And dower The grass below With many a shower From boughs with snow-flowers hung. Who would not happy be, Roaming in Arcady? LOVE AND SPRING. THE southward willow palm Has caught the sunlight fair, And scatters golden balm Down the stream of the April air. Over the emerald wheat The lark laughs up to the sky, And the distant sheepcots bleat On the hillside merrily. Listen! the diligent bees Are murmuring at their toil; There's a song in the woodland trees, A song in the teeming soil. All the world is astir; And smiles the green Earth good, For spring has whispered to her The secret of motherhood. LOVE AND SPRING. O, for the pleasure of life, When the blackthorns blow again; When March winds cease their strife, And Winter forgets his pain. O, for the perfume lush Of the dewy primrose flowers, And the rosy, delicate flush Of scented almond showers. Yet are these joys but fraught With sorrow, and Spring arrayed With dole, for the heart untaught In the love of a man for a maid. SPRING TIME IS HERE. T 1ST to the ditty, I sing you, my Pretty; Spring time is here. Soft winds are breathing, Green buds unsheathing, May bushes wreathing; Spring time is here. Swallows returning Set the heart burning; Pity its yearning; Spring time is here. Blue-eyed and bonny, While it is sunny, ...

About the Book Biographical books, or bios, are detailed descriptions of a person's life. A biography is more than simply the basic facts, like education, work, relationships, and death. It portrays a person's experience of major life events. A biography presents a subject's life story, emphasizing certain aspects of his or her life, and including intimate details of their experiences, which may include an analysis of their personality. Biographical works are generally non-fiction, but fictional works can also be used to portray a person's life. An in-depth form of biographical coverage is referred to as legacy writing. An authorized biography refers to a book written with the permission, cooperation, and at times, participation of the subject or the subject's heirs. An autobiography, on the other hand, is written by the person themselves, sometimes with the assistance of a collaborator or “ghostwriter”. Also in this BookOur titles cover authors from a wide range of literary genres, including novelists, playwrights, poets, historians, essayists, editors, biographers, screenwriters, satirists, librettists, lyricists, journalists, columnists, fiction and non-fiction writers, essayists, translators, and critics.About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades. While these books may have occasional imperfections, we consider that only hand checking of every page ensures readable content without poor picture quality, blurred or missing text etc. That's why we: republish only hand checked books; that are high quality; enabling readers to see classic books in original formats; that are unlikely to have missing or blurred pages.
