  • Bible Stories for Junior Readers Vol. 1: Bible Stories for Junior Readers Vol. 1

    Mrs Norma Jean

Paperback (Norma Gangaram, Sept. 2, 2017)
In an attempt to retell these bible stories for my grandchildren, I realise that they were getting older and would love a book that my eight-year-old grandson Nicholas could now read to me instead. Then, as I talked with my friends they were also wanting books their older grandchildren could read, to show off their reading skills. The book was written with this in mind. I have put together twenty-nine stories in this book starting with popular bible stories from the bible in a chronological order. The stories go from Genesis to Nehemiah. My plans are to continue with the stories to the end of the old testament. I hope as parents or grandparents you will also enjoy reading with your young family. If you enjoyed the stories, please go to the website childrensstories.ca and rate the books and leave your feedback. Your comment will help me to understand your needs on what you would like to see in future books.

Bubbles was very good at using her imagination, I guess you can say she was a dreamer and you know what she says, “Her dreams can take her everywhere.”
  • Mr. Macaw Gives a History Lesson

    Norma jean

    eBook
I have thought of how best to introduce my Granddaughter to the history of Guyana and I hope I came up with a fun way that all children will enjoy. I attempted to tell a brief history of Guyana through the eyes of a Macaw who is the one of the longest living birds of the Amazon and Guyana rainforest. I have deemed this story as fiction because I worried about the accuracy of some of the written material to avoid challenges. Macaw tells how many changes his Grandparents and Great Grandparent have seen over the years and pass it all down to him as bed time stories. Mr. Macaw tells the history in 16 chapters, which I thought would be enough to read one chapter at a time to my little one. I want her to enjoy what she hears and learn to love her grand parent’s heritage and culture. I wanted to stimulate the curiosity in her to want to visit Guyana and learn from what she heard in her childhood and to enjoy her visit there because she knows the history.

  • North American Legends and Folklores

    Mrs Norma jean

Paperback (Norma Jean, April 8, 2012)
The stories contained in this book are all guest stories; I take no credit for these stories. They have been retold for my grandchildren’s enjoyment and edification of Canadian and American first nation legends. My hope is to teach them to respect all cultures and all people regardless of their religious beliefs or cultural background. My in tensions were to teach them that every culture is unique in its own way, and people should not be judged by the clothes they wear, the colour of their skin, the accent they might have in their speech or the type of food they consume. My heart’s desire is that we all strive to be very tolerant people in this cultural diverse society in which we live. Tolerant of each other, knowing that from a distance, we all look the same, and we were all those cute and innocent little babies who were loved and cherished before we became adults.
