When Hitch was a foal, he spotted a poster of a “flying” horse. Hitch wanted to fly just like the horse pictured up on the wall. The featured horse was Hitch’s own father, an Elite, at full gallop during a race. Hitch discovered that he would never be allowed to gallop because one of his legs was too long. After his training, Hitch was assigned the road apple wagon route at The Stables. The disappointed Hitch worked season after season, pulling the road apple wagon. Near the end of his career, Hitch received notice of his impending reassignment to the Glue Factory. Hitch considered escaping rather than accept the new job at the Glue Factory. Whichever course Hitch decided upon, he would have to leave behind all that he loved at The Stables. This is one horse’s story.
