  • Lettters From My Brother

    Nancy Robison

    language (, June 3, 2012)
A proud member of the Eighth Air Force, my brother co-piloted a B-17 during World War II and sent home letters of his experiences. More than letters, this is a story of drama, romance, adventure, mystery, loyalty, patriotism and life on the homefront covering the years from 1941 to 1946. Even though I was a little girl at the time, I had eyes and ears that absorbed everything around me - the sadness when those devasting missing-in-action telegrams arrived and worse stil the deadly letters from the War Department announcing the death of a serviceman.

Once settled in, Taran, Tommy, Chantel and Beau enjoy the beach, swimming, snorkeling, boating, bicycling and dancing. All would be perfect for Taran if she didn't almost drown, crash on a bicycle ride, scrape her leg climbing through bushes, cut her arm on sharp coral and follow along instead of standing up for herself. Were all these accidents Beau's fault? Was he really a klutz or just trying to take care of her? How could she fall for a 'sport's nut' like her brother? But, was she really in love with him or was it just the magic of the islands? Along the way, she learns Hawaiian history and helps Chantel to re-unite her parents.
