  • The Muses Up-to-Date: A Mythological Liberty in Two Acts, With a Prologue

    Mrs. Henrietta Field

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Jan. 24, 2018)
Excerpt from The Muses Up-to-Date: A Mythological Liberty in Two Acts, With a PrologueAnother point demonstrated by experience is that plays in which the characters may be assumed ex elusively by girls are often the most successful. It does not follow that boys have not been considered in the preparation of this volume, but the point has been nevertheless borne in mind, and ifboys are not avail able or regarded desirable it will be easily possible to dispense with their services in a majority of the plays qfl'ered. The play of Cinderella, as herein pre sented, has been put on by girls ranging from eight to fifteen years of age, with possibly more satisfactory results than would have been reached with boys in the cast. The advantage of a company exclusively feminine will be at once appreciated by all who have had experience with dramatic rehearsals.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
