  • The white war

    Mark Thompson

    Paperback (ReadHowYouWant, April 18, 2011)
In May 1915, Italy declared war on the Habsburg Empire. Nearly 750,000 Italian troops were killed in savage, hopeless fighting on the stony hills north of Trieste and in the snows of the Dolomites. To maintain discipline, General Luigi Cadorna restored the Roman practice of decimation, executing random members of units that retreated or rebelled. With elegance and pathos, historian Mark Thompson relates the saga of the Italian front, the nationalist frenzy and political intrigues that preceded the conflict, and the towering personalities of the statesmen, generals, and writers drawn into the heart of the chaos. A work of epic scale, The White War does full justice to the brutal and heart-wrenching war that inspired Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms.

  • Why Cats Are

    Tana Thompson

    Hardcover (Carpenter's Son Publishing, Sept. 1, 2016)
When mother and son go to a homeless animal shelter to adopt a pet, they surely never dreamed how much this tiny fur ball would influence the young boy’s life. Mike has an intense way of gazing at the world that reveals something special--how marvelous is God’s creation and how creation speaks to self-worth. When schoolmates socially and emotionally bully this child, he turns to what the cat does―marvel at the handiwork of God. This perspective, in turn, helps the boy to see his own worth and he comes to the understanding that his Creator has a plan for his life. Part of the Love Unleashed™ project, 100% of net proceeds from the sale of this book go to organizations that support spay and neuter programs for responsible animal control.

  • The Great Tractor Day

    Mick Thompson

Hardcover (Mickego Art, Aug. 8, 2018)
This book was inspired by my grandson, Leo. Leo lives about an hour from here in Ferndale, Michigan. I live in the country and have a few acres of grass to mow that requires a large mower. Hence the lawn tractor or green tractor as Leo calls it. His first ride lead to another and another. Consequently each time Leo comes here the first thing he asks is, can he ride on the green tractor, "Of course." You're getting the picture by now that it was only natural to write a story about Leo's love of tractors and here it is, The Great Tractor Day, written and illustrated by me, Mick Thompson. Enjoy! This is the third book I have published and illustrated. The first children's book titled "Zooomun Noomun" was published in 2013. The second, a children's book, written by my wife Betty Thompson and illustrated by me, titled "The Wish Sisters" was published in 2017. All of our books can be purchased on a Amazon.com. Thank you!

    Mark Thompson

Paperback (Basic Books, Oct. 26, 2010)

With great skill and pathos, Mark Thompson relates the saga of the Italian front. A work of epic scale, The White War does justice to one of the most remarkable untold stories of the First World War.
