When his Mum broke the news her job was being moved to New York and they would have to move as well it seemed like his world was falling apart. Henry struggled with the move but there was nothing that he could do about it and no matter how many times his Mum told him it would be exciting, he couldn’t escape the feeling that everything he knew was slipping away. All his fears seemed to come true when he arrived in New York: no friends, school sucked and he just didn’t get on with the people there. To make matters worse he had Barney working in his apartment building; the most bad tempered guy he ever met and he seems to run into him everyday. As Henry struggled to settle in his new world the impact of Barney was more than he could ever expect. When Henry showed some kindness to two nerdy guys at school his whole world turned upside down. It was just after then that strange things started to happen; things that Henry could in no way explain. The adventure Henry was about to follow would take him to the other side of the world, but not by a plane or ship and he would experience magical events. As the adventure unfolds Barney and the mysterious Delmare become more involved in Henry’s life. The challenges he would face would test his strength but also Henry’s character; how much would he would go out of his way to help people. Would Henry match up to the challenges, real life and magical? This would be the test of a lifetime for Henry and he would have to have his wits about him, learning to think on his feet as he tried to solve all the problems put in his way. Just when he thought he had solved everything put in his way he entered the magical world at Delmare’s home; Bellingham Estates. Henry would face a foe in The Vartok who was a feared and dangerous spirt that roamed Earth; just waiting to consume people whose character allowed them to be influenced by the dark side of the world. In this final challenge Henry digs deep within his soul and with the help of his new friends: Fred, Theodore, William, Abe and Ellie; a rag tag group of senior citizens and the dark angry Jake. Henry is forced to face an enemy he never thought existed. Would Henry and his group rise to the challenge or would they fall the way of so many others and become consumed by The Vartok. Henry’s path is not straight forward but along the way he finds that if you look inside yourself you are stronger than you think. Can an ordinary boy from London accomplish things that he only dreamt about?
