  • The Battle for Sanctuary: The Titan's Legacy: Vol: 2

    Mr. J J Thompson

(CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Sept. 20, 2013)
Fourteen year old Justin McLeod has learned that he is a Titan, born five thousand years after the mythic race disappeared. Justin escapes from unknown forces to Sanctuary, a huge, hidden base where other teens like himself have taken refuge. There he begins to learn about his race's past, why he and the other young Titans have appeared at this moment in history and about his powers and how to use them. But other Titans have also come into the world; rebels who are bent on world domination. They see Justin and the new Titans as a threat to their plans. They attack Sanctuary, but thanks in part to Justin's powers are driven back. Soon after, Justin learns that a family friend, Wilson, who originally helped him escape to safety, is being held captive by government forces. So he and his new friend, Aaron, leave the protection of Sanctuary on a quest to save him. However, they are tricked by their enemies, trapped along with six other new Titans and forced to use a mysterious Gate to get back to Sanctuary. Now they find themselves stranded on the lowest level of this gigantic complex, cut off from all aid and facing a journey through the darkness toward the distant top level and possible safety. But what hope do these young Titans have? Even if they survive the unknown perils that await them, one thing is certain. The renegade Titans now control Sanctuary.

Paperback (ICON Group International, Inc., June 4, 2008)
Webster's edition of this classic is organized to expose the reader to a maximum number of synonyms and antonyms for difficult and often ambiguous English words that are encountered in other works of literature, conversation, or academic examinations. Extremely rare or idiosyncratic words and expressions are given lower priority in the notes compared to words which are ¿difficult, and often encountered¿ in examinations. Rather than supply a single synonym, many are provided for a variety of meanings, allowing readers to better grasp the ambiguity of the English language, and avoid using the notes as a pure crutch. Having the reader decipher a word's meaning within context serves to improve vocabulary retention and understanding. Each page covers words not already highlighted on previous pages. If a difficult word is not noted on a page, chances are that it has been highlighted on a previous page. A more complete thesaurus is supplied at the end of the book; synonyms and antonyms are extracted from Webster's Online Dictionary. Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
