Diary (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Sept. 4, 2015)
Hi. I'm Bella. I'm a Shih Tzu. This book is all about my first year. I wrote it with Dad, well, he did the writing, but I supervised by eating sticks. I'm not good at holding pens, I'm better at eating them. This book is all about my adventures. The good and the bad. The best thing that happened to me was meeting my new Mum and Dad. They are kind, provide a good home and give me lots of love. A little dog couldn't wish for more. In return, I shred their mail, dig up the flowers and bark at everything, especially cats, pigeons and ghosts. I'm Head of Security around here. It's my job to keep the house safe. I have to keep my eyes and ears open (except when I'm asleep upside down). I don't trust our postman. He keeps pushing random bits of paper through our letterbox. I didn’t ask for any of it. It’s a daily job opening everything to check it’s safe for Mum and Dad. I bet he wouldn't like it if I pushed things through his letterbox.

Hi. I'm Bella. I'm a Shih Tzu. This book is all about my first year from the day I was born to my first birthday. I wrote it with Dad. Well, he did the writing but I supervised. I'm not good at holding pens, I'm better at eating them. This book is all about my adventures in my first year - the good and the bad. The best thing that happened to me was meeting my new Mum and Dad. They are kind, provide a good home and give me lots of love. A little dog couldn't wish for more. In return, I shred their mail, dig up the flowers and bark at everything, especially cats, pigeons and ghosts. I'm Head of Security for the house, so it's my job to keep the place safe, so I have to keep my eyes and ears open at all times (unless I'm upside down asleep, which is a lot). I don't trust our postman. He keeps pushing random bits of paper through our letterbox, none of which I've asked for. It takes me ages to open everything to make sure it's safe for Mum and Dad. I bet he wouldn't like it if I pushed things through his letterbox. Mark Harris

Paperback (Bison Books, Dec. 1, 2003)
Henry Wiggen, hero of The Southpaw and the best-known fictional baseball player in America, is back again, throwing a baseball “with his arm and his brain and his memory and his bluff for the sake of his pocket and his family.” More than a novel about baseball, Bang the Drum Slowly is about the friendship and the lives of a group of men as they each learn that a teammate is dying of cancer. Bang the Drum Slowly was chosen as one of the top one hundred sports books of all time by Sports Illustrated and appears on numerous other lists of best baseball fiction. In the introduction to this new Bison Books edition Mark Harris discusses the making of the classic 1973 film starring Robert DeNiro, based on his screen adaptation of the book. Also available in Bison Books editions are The Southpaw, It Looked Like For Ever.
