  • Pookie's Flight

    Mary John Lewis

    Paperback (AuthorHouse, March 24, 2009)
Mary John?s busy life as a mother and homemaker quickly evolved into an empty nest and a time of inventory of her life. As she sorted through pictures and family treasures, she came across poems she had written and journals she had kept. Much of this sorting was done on her deck with her cat Pookie always under-foot. She was thus inspired to write about her travels and include the cat. She had the awesome experience of keeping both of her grandchildren their first year while their parents worked, thus giving her time to read, reflect, and be creative while they slept. It was during this time that she began to piece together snippets and scribbles into real pages of a book. As the years went by, she decided to have this book published, hoping that parents will read to their children, discuss the pictures, and dream of traveling to these places. She loves reading to her grandchildren and drops what she is doing when she hears: ?Nana, will you read this book??
