  • The Ready-Made Junior Quiz

    Mark Lloyd

language (Pillar international Publishing, July 3, 2017)
Welcome to the Ready-Made Junior Quiz Book. This is the umpteenth book in the Ready-Made quiz series and it came about because many, many really, really nice parents asked me if I could create a quiz book that would be more suitable for younger quizzers. I thought about that for a while, had a cup of tea, walked the dog (her name is Honey) and then decided that this would be a great idea. The point of this book is not to get everything right but to have a good bash at a guess, have some fun and learn a few facts that may or may not be useful to know.Parents can be the quizmasters but equally kids can take control and quiz each other or torture their parents with questions on long, sweaty car journeys. In each quiz you will be given the first letter of the answer and it is very much allowed to supplement that hint with whatever extra clues might add to the enjoyment. In some cases there may be more than one correct answer. Be kind to young quizzers and allow these answers. Be extra kind to young quizzers and let them guess more than once. The first half of the book has the questions without the answers and the second half of the book has the question with the answers.Enjoy!

  • The Cleverer Kid's Ready-Made Quiz

    Mark Lloyd

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Nov. 7, 2016)
My grandfather, Victor Lloyd, loved quizzes and crossword puzzles and published many fine quiz books in the original Pillar Publishing Dublin in the 1930s and 40s. Now that I have created Pillar International Publishing, I pay tribute to Granda Lloyd's enterprise with this small series of books. In this particular book I have brought together some questions to challenge the cleverest of quizzers. The format of the book is 5 quizzes of 10 rounds of 10 questions. I have also included 20 bonus tie-breaker questions. The questions vary in difficulty from easy to not so easy Enjoy!

  • Bless the Beasts: Pet Parables: For Kids Of All Ages

    Marilyn Lloyd

    eBook (, Oct. 6, 2015)
Bless the Beasts: Pet Parables for Kids of All Ages are the timeless stories of real pets of Marilyn Holasek Lloyd, her family, and friends. These parables can be enjoyed by virtually everyone. The shorter ones can be read to small children. It is best if the children can read them by themselves around age seven and eight. Young adult readers along with any age pet lover will enjoy these parables, too. Some of the themes are light, and some are serious. So they can be read on different levels of understanding. These twenty parables teach moral lessons. Every word backs up the moral found at the conclusion of the parable. They lend themselves to discussion between children and their parents, teachers, or any adult in their lives. These stories honor not only each pet, but also the pet's owners who spend every day taking care of them and loving them.Full color photographs enable the reader to visualize each pet as the parable is being read. There is more information about the pets in the back, along with additional photographs. Here are some examples of the parables: •From a dog that learned how to forgive the human animals for being born,•To a collie that found a home with her “nose”,•To a dog that took his rock fetching talent to the extreme,•To a dog named Rebel that longed to be free,•To the cat that learned how to love and who practiced with pens to catch mice, •To a Siberian Husky named Sasha whose taught us many life lessons.•To a dog who got lost at a college, and how she was found,•To Kitty who was happy with a porch home.•To my story of being comforted by my dog when bullied as a child, these pet parables are illustrative teaching tools for children and adults. The reader will delight in the challenges and joy of all of these twenty pets that have enriched my life beyond measure
