This book is a pilot project between Wood Elementary School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Chalfant Eckert Publishing. It was born of the desire of one writing teacher, Mrs. Margaret Lawing, who wanted her three classes of English and Language Arts students to discover a love of writing. Most fifth grade students need a reason to write (except for passing notes, of course!), and Mrs. Lawing discovered a way to gain their attention and motivate them to become published authors. This book is the result of those efforts. Profits go to the Year Book Club for the school.

This is a pre-1923 historical reproduction that was curated for quality. Quality assurance was conducted on each of these books in an attempt to remove books with imperfections introduced by the digitization process.
