This is a full-length novel (fantasy/mystery) for middle-graders and young adults, although readers of all ages will enjoy it. The main character is Sapphiry Rose, a blue-eyed, red-haired, petite young girl, who never quite felt like she belonged. She is very precocious and determined, and that coupled with her small stature and striking appearance, makes her an outcast among her peers. Then, one night, shortly after her 12th birthday, she is catapulted into an unknown world that exists below the Earth’s surface. There, she learns her true identity, the secrets of this unique civilization, and the mystery surrounding the events that led to her separation from it. The world of the Inner Core is not only an intriguing place, but its values and philosophies will inspire many to follow their dreams and develop their natural gifts and talents for the betterment of all society.
