Their first stop is the ‘Four Corners’ where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado all touch.Savannah picks out a very special bracelet to buy.The clerk tells her that there is a great legend about the bracelet. It has magical powers and “it is very dangerous un- less it ‘picks’ you. If it picks you, you will have magnificent magical powers and you will become the Altair. If it does not, you will experience headaches and nightmares. This is the third time I have sold this bracelet in the last five years. You may return it if it does not agree with you.” A review: Mr. Anderson spins a yarn that entangles all of us in this story of teenage girls taking a vacation by car. Like all of his Zoie books, this book entertains from page one. He writes in a style that is reminiscent of Mark Twain. There is an adventure in every chapter. We can certainly understand why he has been given the Gold Quill For Literature Award.
