  • The Circle War

    Mack Maloney

Paperback (Open Road Media, Aug. 27, 2013)
Flying over a shattered nation, ace pilot Hawk Hunter comes face to face with his greatest enemyThe United States may have defeated the Soviet Union in the Battle for Western Europe, but the Russians ended World War III with a nuclear sneak attack that shattered America into a collection of warring states dominated by criminals, fascists, and pirates. Air power rules all in the New Order, and pilots like Hawk Hunter are the only form of law. One of the most decorated pilots of the old US Air Force, he flies for the Pacific American Air Corps, a loose group of flyboys who have taken it upon themselves to safeguard what remains of US borders. Flying his U-2 over the frozen tundra late one night, Hunter detects something on his infrared camera: fifty jet fighters, accompanied by a full-scale invasion force. And their sides bear the emblem that frightens him most: the red star of the Soviet Union. World War IV is about to begin. The Circle War is the second book of the Wingman series, which also includes Wingman and The Lucifer Crusade.

  • Michael Fassbender - The Biography

    Jim Maloney

eBook (John Blake, Sept. 3, 2012)
He's the outsider who rocked Hollywood with a string of powerful films, earning him plaudits, awards and an army of adoring fans. His chiselled yet rugged good looks and masculinity set him apart from the 'pretty boy' actors, which has made him popular with both men and women. His intriguing mix of Irish/German roots has infused him with an easy-going charm combined with a steely confidence and determination to succeed. Michael Fassbender doesn't just 'act' he 'becomes' the people he is portraying in a type of method acting that has seen him likened to Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro - both of whom were his childhood heroes. And he is an actor with remarkable versatility. In his breakthrough movie Hunger, he went on a strict diet to lose weight in order to play IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands. By contrast he portrayed an English army officer in the rollicking World War Two adventure Inglorious Basterds; the comic book villain Magneto in X-Men: First Class and psychiatrist Carl Jung in A Dangerous Method - in which he famously spanked Keira Knightley's bottom! He shamelessly bared all as a sex addict in Shame and got moody and broody as a chilling hired killer in the action thriller Haywire. In this eagerly awaited biography, Jim Maloney tells of his remarkable rise to fame from Heidelberg in south-west Germany, to Killarney in Ireland, on to London and Hollywood. Read how he thought he was Superman, why he dropped out of drama school, his brief attempt to become a heavy metal rock star and about the piece of paper pinned to his school notice board that was to change his life forever

  • Vampire Island: Marquis Papers Volume One

    C. J. Maloney

language (Creatio Publishing, March 29, 2017)
“I am a fraud. My title, my power, my very name are not my own. How I came to be the most damned of men is set down here as my final confession. In these pages I will tell how I broke bread with Vampires and shared their friendship. In my confession I hope to explain the Great London Fire of 1666, the proliferation of plague deaths in the city, and how I came to murder an Archduke.” An excerpt of the manuscript discovered in 1967 within the false bottom of a rotten sea chest belonging to a Captain C. Johnson. In the year of our lord 1658, the Albatross was lost with all hands during a hurricane. Stories from merchant sailors describing a shadowy pirate vessel that preyed upon the ill-advised and unlucky have never been confirmed. But in this extraordinary manuscript we have the first proof of its existence, if we are to believe the adventures written by a Tom Hawkins, known to the world as the Marquis de Maintenon. The Marquis Papers detail the exploits of a young boy who finds himself enmeshed in the horrors of 17th century Caribbean society still troubled by creatures we now relegate to fantasy. While he considers himself a failure, he does enlighten us as to the true nature of a number of assassinations and troubling events in the Caribbean. In Vampire Island, we learn of the existence and exploits of Captain Jacque Minuit and his vampire crew. Tom Hawkins relates his encounters with slavers, grave robbers, and characters of ill repute. He tells of silent battles between the vampires and a breed of chronic zombie that pursues them. But we also learn of Tom's brush with nobility in the shape of a young lady so far above his station that he dare not look her in the face and his affection and love for a slave master. We also learn a number of very filthy Carib phrases, which Tom passes on to the reader. Through it all, Tom maintains his dedication to his own possible salvation even after he has been involved in more villainy than most men dream of. We learn of his despair at the passing of his father, his terror and determination in the face of the vampire pirates, and his horror at finding himself worse off in the company of fellow mortals. As we move farther into the story, the events detailed are supported by existing historical accounts, though through Tom's eyes the reasons for the battles and fires turns what we know of the world upside down. But Tom's explanations do bring new light to otherwise odd or strange occurrences in the court of Louis XIV. If true, the world owes Tom a debt of gratitude.
