  • A Sketch of My Friend's Family: Intended to Suggest Some Practical Hints On Religion and Domestic Manners

    Marshall

Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

  • What Are You Afraid Of?

    F. L. Marshall

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, May 24, 2017)
As loving parents, we often struggle with how to explain ordinary things to the growing inquisitive minds of our children. Their fears, curiously, and questions spring up at the most inopportune times, such as bedtime. One of the stories in this book is loosely based on the youngest daughter of F. L. Marshall, when she was 3 years old. Much like countless other children she was afraid of lightning and the accompanying thunder. Whenever a thunderstorm rolled in overnight, F. L. Marshall was awakened by a knee wedged in his back, or by a little uninvited head resting on his pillow. Follow “Jack” and his friends through their adventures as he attempts to help children overcome their greatest fears and have some fun along the way. If you have a child that is afraid or curious about things they encounter at night this book would be a fantastic addition to bedtime reading. You are sure to fall in love with this whimsical blend of folklore with a modern spin.
