They hired artists to design posters spotlighting the parks, landmarks, and other neat places people could reach on public transit. Some of the popular destinations featured on the posters were the theatres, museums, gardens, and parks all around the city of London. Many beautiful posters featuring these interesting places were produced, each one telling potential visitors which transit line would take them there. For one hundred years, copies of every poster were collected and there are now more than five thousand posters and almost one thousand original artworks at London Transport Museum. In this colouring book you will find twenty-two of these posters by many artists some well known, others not. When you colour in the pictures, you can try to copy the original colours and style, or you might decide to use your own. The last page of the book is blank so you can use the images on the inside of the cover to draw and colour in your own poster. If you live by a city, you might try drawing a picture that will make people want to go there. If you don t live by a city, perhaps you d like to draw a poster of your favourite place.
