  • Mitzi Mufflin Principal for a Day

    Liz Cooper

    eBook (J2B Publiishing, March 15, 2020)
When new student Mitzi Mufflin, who happens to be blind, joins the gang at Mortimer Potts Elementary School, she's thrilled to named Principal for a Day. Little does she know, the real principal and teachers will disappear! Can Principal Mufflin and her pint-sized "staff" secretly run the school until the teachers return? If they don't, Mitzi is afraid that anything could happen. The teachers might even be fired and everyone would have to start the school year all over again. A kindergarten riot, a statue of Mortimer Potts made out of cheese, and other unexpected events keep Mitzi and her classmates on their toes. And who is the mysterious Mr. Doberman snooping around the school? Join Mitzi as she navigates her way through each new challenge to save the school from disaster, using resourcefulness, determination, humor, and her cane, Tappity. This book is the second in a series by Liz Cooper featuring resilient young characters dealing with unique challenges. Although the main character in this story is blind, the story does not focus on the disability itself, but rather a humorous situation that the students at Mortimer Potts Elementary School find themselves in, and how they decide to deal with it. Many of the Mortimer Potts Elementary students were introduced in Bluebell Skinks Wheelchair Kid (2019) however, the book can stand alone as a satisfying reading experience.

Just because a person works on the shadier side of legality, doesn’t mean they have to be uncivilized. It’s this control that has made Simon good at his job.His parents were soulmates, but Simon decided a long time ago that he had no desire to ever be so weak to another person. Weakness didn’t fit into his neatly framed life. He certainly had no interest in falling in love with the sloppy, flirtatious Luc Allard. Or at least, that’s what he told himself. When an accident on a con job causes Simon to bond to Luc, he must relearn what it means to put his life in someone else’s hands.More soulbonding, more exotic locations, and more about two men learning how to be in love. This story contains explicit M/M content.

  • Granny’s Teeth: A Collection of Quirky Rhyming Tales

    Liz Cooper

    Paperback (ArchwayPublishing, Aug. 31, 2017)
Whether looking for a lost shoe, staying awake all night listening to a chatty set of dentures, or watching Grandpas hair fly away, the young characters in these fifteen quirky tales find surprising solutions to lifes unexpected events. The storylines are simple and funny, yet the themes are surprisingly complex, providing lots of opportunities for the sharing of ideas. Its fun to talk about a story, but often, its hard to know what to talk about beyond the basic plot and details. In order to encourage critical thinking, there are intriguing kid-friendly questions placed strategically at the end of each tale. This gives readers an immediate opportunity to respond to the story, whether they read it independently or with an adult. Additional questions, discussion starters, and research ideas in the Lets Talk About it section of the book provide opportunities for digging deeper. Drawing upon her former experience as a teacher and school system reading supervisor, author Liz Cooper knows how to write stories that are charming, thought-provoking, and downright funny!
