Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, Feb. 1, 2014)
About the Book Travel is the movement of people between two geographical locations. Travel can be done by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip. Over the span of history, travel has becomer safer, cheaper and more common among the world's population. In the Middle Ages pilgrimages were a major reason for civilian travel in both the Christian and Muslim worlds. It became fashionable during the late 16th century for young European aristocrats and wealthy upper class men to undertake a Grand Tour of major European cities as part of their education. It included historic cities such as London, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. During the 19th century innovations led to rail networks and steamship routes that stimulated tourism. Also in this Book These titles refer to special interest in travel. It is for trips and travel that are out of the ordinary and customised to the person who wrote the book, or about planning customised travel. A special interest trip needs to be rewarding, enriching, adventurous and a learning experience. These experiences may be natural or cultural. About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades. While these books may have occasional imperfections, we consider that only hand checking of every page ensures readable content without poor picture quality, blurred or missing text etc. That's why we: republish only hand checked books; that are high quality; enabling readers to see classic books in original formats; that are unlikely to have missing or blurred pages. You can search "Leopold Classic Library" in categories of your interest to find other books in our extensive collection. Happy reading!

  • The Search for the Lost Mail Plane

    Lewis E Theiss

Hardcover (Wilcox & Follett Co, March 15, 1945)
The Search for the Lost Mail Plane, first published in 1928, is the second book in Lewis Theiss' (1878-1963) "The Air Mail Series." In the 1928 Foreward, Theiss writes: "It is the writer's hope that his young readers will find this story interesting and worth while. If it succeeds in giving them an idea of the truly heroic character of our Air Mail pilots, and suggests even faintly some of the perils that they constantly face in carrying our mail, it will have served its purpose." Theiss based the book on a true story.
