    Leland B Jacobs

Hardcover (Holt, Rinehart and Winston, March 15, 1963)
From an Amazon reviewer: "Written in a style similar to Brown's "Goodnight Moon" this story says goodnight to the insects and animals. The illustrations are unusual and interesting, sort of impressionist/expressionist style. Soothing. Great bedtime story!"

  • the monkey and the bee

    leland b. jacobs

Paperback (golden press, March 15, 1969)
This story was in a book my mother bought way back in '83 that contains lots of different tales. It's a wonderful rhyming/short word story about a curious fox, a trouble-making monkey, and a very irritated bee. It's great for beginning readers - my four siblings and I all learned to read using this book - and it's a very silly, easy-to-love tale. As far as I've seen, it's rather hard to come by, so if you can find it, snag it!(Amazon customer)
