  • Ananda and the Legions of Solaria

    Diamond Layne

language (RioDiamond Publishing, Oct. 25, 2011)
The evil menace known as the Dark Star is stirring to new life. It has sent his evil minions known as the Darkas in search of the Light, an ancient and powerful magic found on the planet Solaria. To save their planet from sure destruction, the Queen Kimayah sends seven of her chosen to the planet earth in search of divine beings who can wield the magic of the Light. Ananda and her friends accept the charge of embarking on a dangerous mission to help the Solarians battle the evil Darkas. They bravely make an interplanetary jump, to try to save the Solarians and stop the invasion of the Dark Star.A message from Ananda,As the skies of Solaria began to darken, my friends and I stood on the battlements of Markelia alongside General Amari. The Dark Army stretched for as far as the eye could see. They held torches to light their way as they marched on throughout the night. Their siege machines were so heavy, you could hear them rumbling along the rocky surface. The worst part about the invasion of the dark army was their horrid stench that sort of reminded me of a beach polluted with the foulest toxins on the planet. Well, that’s at least what it smelled like every time the breeze picked up the vile stench of Mernok’s minions. Sure, I’m supposed to be super tough because me and my friends have super powers; but that doesn’t erase the facts about Mernok and his dark army. I refuse to be in denial; that guy gives me the heepy jeepies! Picture this; Mernok stands about eight feet tall, has glowing red eyes, black scaly skin; and he’s freaking huge! That’s not even the bad part about this creep. Mernok is a shadow wrath and he’s infused with dark magic. If you don’t understand the depth of dark magic, here’s a little secret; conventional weapons cannot harm him. Did you hear me? You can grab any one of Earth’s so called weapons, even the ones of “mast destruction” and all Mernok is going to do is absorb the dark energy. In short, no guns, swords, knives, baseball bats or even nuclear missiles can touch this creep. The only defense the Solarian’s had against the Dark Army was us. Seven Solarians came to Earth to search us out and each of them linked up with me and my friends. They gave us all special powers of magical origin that would enhance our fighting abilities and the rest is history.

This year, Anne wants things to be different, and she's going to do things her way. On the eve of the Faire, Anne, along with a reluctant Mary, conjures up a spell that will make their 16th birthday party a whirlwind event. Little do they know that it's a literal request. After the mini tornado in their room subsides, the girls realize they've invoked the power of the Gemini Twins, Castor and Pollux. That's the good news. The bad news is they also caught the attention of a sorceress named Zeena who has been collecting children born under each Zodiac Sign to enhance her power. Once she captures Anne and Mary, Gemini twins, the entire Zodiac, and the world, will be hers. Anne leads the fight against Zeena, but her one-sided decisions could throw them into a world so far from home, even the Renaissance Faire would seem like a brilliant vacation. Between managing their new Zodiac powers, dodging their manic mother and trying to stop Zeena, they'll get a 16th birthday they'll never forget.
